About me

I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree at UC Santa Cruz.  I started my Post Graduate work in Psychology  at Pepperdine University, and was swept into the world of Telecommunications before finishing my Master's Degree.

After 13 years of working as a sales professional in Telecom I realized that my true passions, health and wellness, needed to be explored.  Working, traveling and entertaining in the corporate world had left me just a shadow of the human being I was before. I had high levels of fatigue each day, inability to handle stress, a weakened immune system, "brain fog", hormone imbalance, and my joints sounded like they were made of cellophane wrap, crackling every time I moved.  I knew there was something wrong but my allopathic doctor said nothing was wrong with me, and actually said that changing my diet would not help with any issues.  (Well actually she said, "eating better won't help with your hormones.")

After that last appointment with my doctor, I decided her answer didn't work for me, and I began to educate myself with the intent to heal my body.  I went back to school for nutrition, herbal medicine, yoga studies, massage therapy, ayurveda, and other modalities.  I was taught to look at the ROOT CAUSE of the symptoms rather than simply masking or putting a bandaid on the symptoms.  I started applying all I was learning and seeing some shifts in my health and then I absolutely knew I wanted to change my career to something in the wellness field.

After going through a final certification to become a Functional Nutrition Counselor from the Functional Nutrition Alliance, I started coaching clients on nutrition and lifestyle changes.  In my studies I learned that balancing blood sugar is one of the root "non-negotiables" that needs to be addressed in all clients, and definitely all chronic conditions.  While working on my own blood sugar, and losing excess weight and balancing my hormones, I realized blood sugar is where I wanted to focus my coaching and counseling practice.

I created The Sugar Freed Method to help all people manage their high blood sugar and prediabetes and help Type II Diabetics reverse their condition naturally. My goal in life is to reach as many people out there that feel that they are a prisoner to their health issues. This is also why I have built an online course with personal coaching to go along with it.  As the founder, my journey has been fueled by a blend of mind and body practices like yoga and meditation, and nutrition and lifestyle education developed over years of dedicated practice in the wellness industry. There is a time and place for western medicine and you may have to take those prescription drugs to manage your health, but when you overhaul your lifestyle, you can feel and look better no matter what your "diagnoses" are.  We can take back our power to educate ourselves on what is going in our bodies, and take action to heal ourselves.
